Odyssey (demo)

Did you hear about that house that burned down a few summers ago? 

Yeah, the house up on the hill, with the dirty picket fence. They said there was no survivors, but only two bodies were ever found in the rubble. There was five people living up there, don't you know? And they were the parents, too.  The dead ones I mean. And that's not the strangest thing, it was the Alitrixes. Plenty of reason to burn the place down, I know- but hey, I heard they were getting... better. But the funny thing was that one of them did pyromancy! The little girl, with the crutches. Heard she was a trouble maker of some sort. And for the house to just catch fire like that? No evidence of a gas leak or accident, but they did find a bunch of moth balls in the basement, and I mean a LOT. I'd say the girl set the place ablaze, but that's just me.

That still doesn't explain the bodies, though. News said the house was up and burning in the middle of the night, that's why it took the fire department so long to get down there- there's no  way they would've gotten out if they didn't know. Or if at least one of them didn't know.

...So where are they?

Jack and Hazel Alitrix are on the run from their past, their family being a long line of warmongers and heretics known throughout the centuries at fault for a long line of wrong doings. In their attempt to escape, the two meet a party of ghoulish foragers trying to find their own place to call home. Spend each night talking to a member of your travelling party,  and acquire fragments of how their past connects back to the wrong doings of the Alitrixes.

Or better yet, figure out what part they play in the end of the world.
